Job Summary

The Business Analyst will be part of the Actuarial BU and is responsible for using analytical skills to provide support to both Actuarial and Finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing formulaic reserve amounts and related processing and analysis (e.g. trend reports, validations, explanation of changes)
Preparing quarterly/annual statutory and/or GAAP financial statements and schedules/exhibits related to reserves, policy counts, and amount of insurance
Preparing reconciliations between actuarial models and financial exhibits
Executing controls and participating in internal and external audits
Preparing analytical schedules, analyzing variances, and providing analytical support based on individual review and internal customer requests
Build and maintain Workday reports for the Actuarial team
Participating in and initiating process improvement projects
Work collaboratively within the team and across departments


Bachelors or Masters degree in any discipline (e.g. Finance , Accounts, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field)
2-4 years’ experience in Life Insurance industry ( 1-3 yrs.’ for B1 and 2-4 yrs. for B2 )
Experience in actuarial & financial reporting for US including yearend close activities
Analytics experience in financial/accounting or insurance domain
Knowledge of US products/regulations will be preferred
Proficient in tools like MS Excel, SQL, Access. Advance excel skills will be an added advantage
Strong problem solving and analytical capability
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Candidates with Actuarial/LOMA certifications will be preferred
