Overview

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

As part of BT Group Tax – Gurgaon Centre of Excellence, you will support BT Group Tax with tax compliance, analysis and reporting activities in respect of one or more tax areas including UK Corporate Tax, VAT and Employment Tax etc. For this purpose, you may also be working with the respective local finance and tax teams, Group Finance colleagues and external advisors, as may be required. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating with wider finance, tax, and other stakeholders to gather the information required for preparation of various tax returns/analyses.
  • Supporting the preparation of various VAT sub-returns for BT Group as per the agreed process and statutory requirements.
  • Collating information from various stakeholders regarding the ‘PAYE Settlement Agreement’ (PSA) and preparation of the annual PSA calculation. Supporting other Employment Tax related requirements (e.g. STBV – short term business visitors reporting)
  • Supporting UK Corporate Tax compliance – e.g. CFC analysis/CbCR reporting/NRL (Non-Resident Landlord returns)/tax residency certificates/analysis of various P&L GLs (i.e. legal & professional fees, entertainment etc.) from a CT perspective.
  • Adhering to the approved processes in respect of various tax compliance and reporting obligations.
  • Supporting tax risk management processes (e.g. SAO – Senior Accounting Officer processes)
  • Suggesting areas for process improvements/automation and driving implementation of approved changes with a consistent and proactive approach.
  • Timely reporting on the progress of work, achievements, and risks, if any, to your line manager/stakeholders.
  • Responding to queries raised by internal stakeholders/auditors/local tax authorities/advisors in consultation with your line manager.
  • Supporting various on-going tax process improvement projects by effective use of various technology tools.

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Typically, a Graduate/post Graduate (B.Com/ M.Com) experienced in UK tax compliances with 2-3 years of experience in a reputed multinational corporation or consultancy firm.
  • Expert level knowledge in MS Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point). Working knowledge of MS Teams and SharePoint.

Good exposure to technology in general (e.g. an ERP environment like Oracle/SAP, tax automation projects such as the UK Making Tax Digital, GST/ VAT implementations, RPA projects etc.) would be an added advantage.
